Assignment 01:
Low Energy building Analysis

In a group of 2 a building was chosen as our precedent study. With a deep research and discussion, energy efficient strategies implemented to this built environment on the global scene and understand how these strategies affect the energy demands in the chosen building.

Potential inventory of its energy efficient strategies on Façade, Lighting System, HVAC System, Waste Management, Renewable Energy used, Waste Management will be extract from the building and develop our content in infographic video with the building domain strategies applied by the designer.

The objectives of this project are as follows:

• To identify specific energy efficient strategies and its implementation

• To describe and understand the significance of energy demands and its impact in low energy buildings particularly

Learning Outcome

• Describe the impact of the built environment on the global scene and understand energy demands in buildings.

• Identify the principles of energy efficient systems in architecture and building technology.

Final Outcome

Leeza SOHO locate at Beijing China was chosen as our study building with ZAHA HADID's fascinating design approach by responding to the sun with a huge screen of window opening creating the world's highest atrium creating a magical user experience from outdoor to ward indoor.

This approach also indirectly lower down its energy demand on artificial lighting and working with the façade system which is angled up allowing ventilation keeping the temperature in the building in human comfort range through out the year in this four season country.

Reflection

We make energy and Energy make up us. Is this cycle proving energy will not been destroy but will be transfer from one to another?

Along this project,  with discuss and corporates with groupmate I found that a building was installed with a lot of strategies purposely to lower down the energy usage of the building. As an architect we initiate one design and we take the duty of success both the building and the building environment.

Maintaining a balance of human need and environment is the key of a sustainable building environment.
